Holiday Party Look – The Ankara Shift Dress

Hello darlings,

It’s a few days to Christmas which means a lot of holiday events for everyone. This can throw some people into a tail spin because it can be daunting finding what to wear to multiple professional or personal events, especially during the holidays. My outfit for today is a Shift Dress. Due to my love for prints, I’m wearing this shift dress made from African Print fabric (Ankara) mixed with a chiffon detail around the neckline. You can wear a similar print and color, but you can always switch it up and wear a solid holiday color like red, green, gold, silver or even black, because you can never go wrong with a little black dress.

A shift dress is a must have in every girls closet. It creates a fun and flirty look and you never have to worry about the fitting because it’s great on every shape and size especially when worn with heels. To complete my look, I wore this gorgeous red pumps and my rock stud handbag. You can always recreate this look or wear a pair of boots or booties with a fabulous clutch or shoulder bag. If you’re not wearing a print dress then consider wearing accessories that pop. You always need to have an item on you that boldly makes a statement e.g. jewelry. Also, before you walk out the door, grab a beautiful coat to stay warm and cozy. Don’t be fooled by these pictures because the weather here in Houston has gotten cooler.
