Book Review – 3:55 by Lashandra Hall
Who else thinks this Summer has been a breeze? I do. It came swiftly, felt good but went by so fast. In addition to being a style lover and traveler, I’m also an avid reader. I try to read as much as I can but with my busy schedule I’m only able to make time to read when I’m on a trip.
One of the books I read this summer was 3:55 by Lashandra Hall. I had the honor of meeting the beautiful author last year at an event hosted by the Tv Host Kia Renee. Not only is she an award winning author of multiple books, but she runs her own Publishing Company.
Lashandra describes her newest book as “A story for Believers”. It’s a book about relationships, family, friendships, career and the choices she made that got her to the life changing moment at 3:55. This book can initially be confusing if you don’t understand that it was written in a format like a diary. The paragraphs and chapters are not always a continuation of the previous ones, the complexity comes from the fact that the book is a collection of her thoughts at different stages of her life.
One of the things I loved most about this book was the honesty which was refreshing. It explores her life, from a little girl with questions, to her journey through love and basketball to fulfilling her vision to write and to understand the little girl she was in order for the woman to flourish.
This is an inspiring book and a great reminder that sometimes the most challenging events and experiences that may destroy us could also be that which liberates and transforms us. Every day is an opportunity for a fresh start. Books can be ordered on AMAZON or BARNES & NOBLE.
