Good morning beautiful people!

I hope you’re having a good week. It’s been raining alot here in Houston but my week is going great and I can see the rainbow beyond the clouds. I can also feel the springing forth of the new season which comes with new dreams and opportunities.

In this month of March which is Women’s month, I’ll be sharing quotes and poetry by women that have inspired me and short stories on the women in my life that have influenced me. Being a woman is such an honor and privilege. It comes with great power and responsibility and we should never plead to be respected, we should demand it. So, for every woman out there, I hope you live with authenticity, confidence, grace and strength. Knowing and walking in your self-worth, is that special place where your true beauty shines.

My outfit for today is this knit black dress and multicolored Ankara vest which is great as we transition into a different season. Having items of clothing for layering is significant and should be a part of every girl’s wardrobe. Layering is stylish and enhances your look, while being functional by keeping you warm. I chose this vest because of the unique print and color which is a reminder of my heritage. This year I made a conscious decision to incorporate my African heritage into my style since it’s a big part of who I am. I know we’re now in a new month and it isn’t “Black History” month but as I’ve mentioned in the past, Black History is American History and it should be recognized and celebrated every day. So, when I wear black or wear items from black designers, it is in honor of my heritage. Everyone needs to embrace whatever makes them unique.
