My Top NYFW Looks – Heels to Sneakers
The last few days have been extremely busy and exhausting, but it has also been fun and exciting. I’m also announcing that since I didn’t share any New York Fashion Week (NYFW) post last week, this week I’ll be doing a blog post daily to update you on all that has been going on, YAY!
It has been my dream for years to attend New York Fashion Week but getting an invitation to it seemed like a dream until I became a fashion influencer/blogger last year. The fashion and marketing industry has changed so much in the last 10 years and bloggers are now a big part of it.
I’m very humbled that I got invited to many shows to the point that I had to miss some due to timing and distance between shows. It has been such an honor meeting talented designers like Michael Costello who I’ve admired for years to meeting new and reconnecting with old blogger friends and learning from everyone. Through out this month I’ll be doing a quick recap of my trip, shows and experience during fashion week. I’ll also be sharing tips on essential items to take on a trip like this, where to go enjoy the sights and sounds of New York, where you can do photoshoots, how to get around, how to capture and best showcase the events you attend and how to network with people (bloggers, designers, brands and other industry folks) and make your trip fun but very productive.
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite looks on this trip. This was my first outfit of NYFW Day 2, and I wore this purple Ankara dress from 3reec’s called the Piper Dress. This is a dress I specially designed by infusing the classic fitted midi silhouette with puff sleeves to give it more dimension and character. I learned very quickly to make sure I found a balance between being stylish and comfortable so most times I layered or had long sleeves and a high neck due to the growing chill in the air and I made sure that if I was wearing heels for the shows and events, I had backup flats or sneakers before I hit the streets of New York City.
